Model your home. See what keeps it powered.

What Is a SentryVolt Power Plan?

Most homeowners do not need another solar sales pitch. They need to understand their own house first.

SentryVolt creates a simple model of how your home uses electricity, then lets you test different ways of keeping it powered.

Turn appliances on and off, try battery sizes, add solar or a generator, simulate longer outages and see how the answer changes.

No phone number. No installer required. No purchase required.

Your house uses power. Something has to supply it.

Loads use power

Refrigerator · lights · internet · air conditioner · water heater

Sources supply power

Normally: the grid

Outage: battery, generator or compatible solar and backup equipment

SentryVolt lets you experiment with both sides. You do not have to become an energy expert to start.

Why Would I Use This?

  • How big a battery do I actually need?
  • Can a battery run and start my air conditioner?
  • How long will it last?
  • Would a generator make more sense?
  • Would combining a battery and generator work better?
  • Would solar extend backup time?
  • How much equipment am I talking about?
  • What should I ask an installer?
  • Is an expensive proposal solving the problem I care about?

These questions affect one another. That is why SentryVolt models the whole system instead of answering them one at a time.

Example: Meet the Smith House

A fictional 2,200 sq ft house with central AC, gas heat and about 31 kWh of electricity use per day. Their goal: 24 hours of outage protection.

They select essential circuits, including the refrigerator, lights, internet and home office. Then they try central AC.

Essential loads, without AC

9.0 kWh/day

Generic battery bank for the goal: 13.5 kWh

Add central AC

27.3 kWh/day

Generic battery bank for the goal: 40.5 kWh

The air conditioner drives a much larger backup requirement. Now the homeowner has a useful decision: support central AC with more equipment, keep one room cool, or compare a generator for long outages.

Calculated using the same engine as the app. No solar recharge, 10% reserve, generic 13.5 kWh / 5 kW modules and typical load schedules. Sizing checks energy, running output and startup demand. These are planning estimates, not product or installation designs.

How It Works

  1. Describe your home

Tell us what you know. Estimates are okay.

  2. Choose what needs power

Pick the appliances and systems you care about.

  3. Build a backup setup

Try batteries, generators, solar or combinations.

  4. Experiment

Change one thing and watch the answers update. Duplicate a scenario to keep your original.

  5. Read your Plan

See what appears to fit, why, what limits your setup and what to ask before buying anything.

What SentryVolt Does Not Do

It does not replace an electrician, engineer, site inspection, final contractor design or manufacturer compatibility confirmation. It provides a planning model so you can make better decisions and ask better questions.

Why This Is Different

Not a lead form

No phone number required. Your home model is saved on your device.

Not tied to one technology

The answer can be battery, generator, solar, hybrid, portable power, efficiency first or doing nothing yet.

Visible assumptions

See what SentryVolt knows and what it estimated. Confidence describes input completeness.

Built for experimentation

Changing an assumption updates the model. Look for what changes the answer.
