Where things stand today. SentryVolt is built to be supported by advertising. As of the date above, the advertising spaces on the site show placeholders: no ad network is running and no advertiser, affiliate or referral partner is paying SentryVolt. This page will be updated when that changes.
How SentryVolt intends to earn revenue
- Display advertising in clearly labeled spaces on pages.
- Affiliate links, where SentryVolt may earn a commission if you buy something after following a link. Any page carrying affiliate links will say so near the top.
- Sponsored provider listings or referrals, if introduced, always labeled as sponsored.
The rules we hold ourselves to
- Ads are labeled. Every advertising space carries the word "Advertisement". Sponsored listings will carry the words "Sponsored Provider".
- Ads are kept away from results. No advertisement is placed between a calculator's inputs and its output, inside a result, or where it could be mistaken for a SentryVolt recommendation.
- Recommendations are not for sale. The Power Plan recommendation, battery sizing, generator comparison, quote check and product listings are produced by the same published logic for every visitor. No payment changes a result, a ranking or a score.
- Product data is independent. Battery specifications come from manufacturer documents, listed with their source and the date checked, in alphabetical order. A product is not listed, omitted or ordered because of a commercial relationship.
- "SentryVolt recommendation" means exactly that. The label is used only for output of the planning engine, never for a paid placement.
How to tell what you are looking at
- A box labeled Advertisement is paid space. SentryVolt did not choose its message.
- Anything labeled Sponsored Provider is a paid listing.
- A result labeled SentryVolt recommendation or Best fit comes from the calculation engine. The method is described on the assumptions and sources page.
Accuracy
Prices, specifications, incentive rules and utility programs change. Cost figures on SentryVolt are planning ranges, not quotes, and product specifications carry the date they were last checked. Verify current details with the manufacturer, your installer and your utility before buying.
